So I’m not very good at this whole sharing thing, especially when it comes to my (self-proclaimed) boring, regular old life. It’s much easier for me to share when I’m out and about, traveling, and doing things. But in an effort not to leave those in the dark as I lead up to this crazy adventure I’m beginning to see unfold, I’ve decided to begin a blog series “Days in the Life” to give some updates on my life happenings. Hopefully this will be a way for y’all to get to know me better as you embark on this journey as well.
On Friday, December 6th I had my firm’s Christmas party. This year’s party was held at the Milwaukee Public Museum which I thought was a really unique place to have it. It was nice being able to explore the exhibits of the museum and not have all 300+ employees and spouses confined to one reception hall room. I also won a pair of tickets to go to a Milwaukee Bucks game!
On Sunday, December 8th I had the opportunity to serve in my church’s worship band for the very first time! One of the things I’ve loved so much about going to church at Victory of the Lamb is the music. I’ve always loved singing and being able to hear and sing along with all my favorite Jesus tunes is the cherry on top of an already amazing church! However, seeing and being a part of the behind the scenes of the music at Victory has given me a newfound appreciation for the musicians that are regularly using their talents to serve the Lord. And let me tell you, these guys and gals are absolute pros! I was a mess at our first practice and learned so much about live music in that short one hour practice. I can’t thank that group enough for getting me ready to lead worship in song for my very first time. I had so much fun and am counting down the days till I’m able to serve in that way again (37)!
On Tuesday, December 10th I found out I passed my fourth and FINAL section of the CPA exam! These exams have pretty much consumed my life and all of my free time for the past 18 months or so and it’s such a relief to finally have them completed! I’m not totally sure what God has in store for my future in terms of accounting but I know all of the hard work and dedication towards these exams has and will continue to pay off in the future for whatever God has planned for me. I was also working in Madison this week and was able to catch up with a couple of good friends who are now living there. I think I really needed this, as our visits resulted in a whole lot of encouragement about my World Race journey and for some of my preparation leading up to it, including me recording my first ever video about some of the things happening in my life. You can check that video out on my Instagram page (that_so_torg). HUGE shout out to my friends for that!
That’s all for this week’s update! Thanks for tuning in!
