One of the biggest things I’ve learned from Pastor Juan and his family during my time here in ChiChi is how to live with complete dependence on the Lord. Both him and his wife work full-time, unpaid for the ministry, New Generation. It has been really incredible to see the way he and his family live with full trust in the Lord that He will provide everything needed in order to carry out the mission of the ministry in the way the Lord placed on their hearts. A vital part of the ministry is giving back to the community, meeting the needs of the families here, both spiritual and earthly needs. Which brings us to the point of this blog…
Let’s talk about toilets. An appliance we’ve come to expect to be present in every household in the United States. However, that’s not the case here in Guatemala. In fact, 80 out of the 250 families in the community we are living in outside of Chichicastenango do not have a toilet in their home.
When our ministry host, Pastor Juan, moved to this community, he felt the Lord telling him to provide toilets for these families and has been working towards this goal ever since. It takes roughly $70 to provide a toilet to a family. Would you be willing to help Pastor Juan provide toilets to families in his community? Any amount donated is greatly appreciated!
