On Friday, December 13, my family went to see A Christmas Story: The Musical at the Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson, WI. It was really amazing to have so much of my family together in one place as our group consisted of myself, my parents, brother, sister, brother-in-law, and niece, two of my aunts and two uncles, as well as two cousins! I’m hoping this will become a family Christmas tradition seeing as last year we all went to see Elf: The Musical here as well. For those that have never been to or heard of the Fireside Theatre, it’s a pretty small theatre (sits about 700) with a small square stage in the middle of the theatre with the seats going around all for sides. This makes for unique shows, with characters constantly running in and out of the theatre from all four side aisles, as well as up and down from an elevator-like lift in the center of the stage.

On Tuesday, December 17, I was able to make it to a hot yoga session with my friend, Ashley. I’m definitely not a flexible person, so yoga has never been something that I’ve been interested in until lately. I had never really known much about yoga other than the preconceived notion that it was just a bunch of stretching. Boy, was I wrong. After learning more from friends who enjoy the practice, I attended my first session a couple of weeks ago. Ashley convinced me to attend a hot yoga session with her and my other friend, Ashley’s boyfriend, Andrew. That first session was definitely more intense, challenging, and satisfying that I had expected it to be and now I was happy to be able to make it back for another session. For me, I think yoga could be a very relaxing and stress-reducing activity and is something I hope to be able to incorporate more regularly in my daily life in the New Year, as well as during my time on the World Race!

On Thursday, December 19, I made my way up to Cedar Grove Elementary School for a very special Christmas Concert put on by my good friend Dafca and her classmates! Dafca is a spunky, fun-loving, little girl I met in Haiti in the summer of 2017. In August 2018, she was in a horrific accident in Haiti where she was electrocuted. After spending about a month and a half in a Haitian hospital, Dafca was able to come to the US to get further medical treatment and spent another month in a hospital in Boston. After Boston she came back to Wisconsin to heal and unfortunately wasn’t able to return to her family in Haiti due to some family complications. She now resides in WI and is in the process of being adopted by her forever family! Over the last year or so since she came to the US I’ve been able to spend quite a bit of time with her and have developed wonderful relationships with her and the families she has stayed with while here. It was so nice to how much she’s loving her new home and school. Her outgoing personality and love for singing and praising the Lord was very evident. She’s such a wonderful miracle God has placed in my life and an incredible beacon of God’s blessings and love!

On Thursday, I was also able to host my very first friends Christmas party in my NEW HOUSE! I was fortunate enough to make the big decision of buying a house earlier this year, in April. It’s been an absolute blessing so far, to say the least. I’ve been blessed with some really great rommates and have loved having a place to host and entertain friends and family! It was such a special night getting to  spend time celebrating Christmas with my close group of friends, Ashley, Ashley, Kelsey, and Andrew!

That’s all for this week, as I’m gearing up for what’s going to be one of the best and busiest weeks of the year, Christmas! See you soon!
