Our journey will launch in Costa Rica, where we will get to join the World Race ministry partners and share the powerful love of Jesus in slums devastated by gang violence and poverty. There will be opportunities to share the Gospel with local business owners and tourists, and ultimately show this pura vida nation the true source of Life.

Our focuses in Costa Rica will include: Camp Ministry, Feeding Program, Sex Trafficking Ministry, Community Outreach, Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Evangelism, and Manual Labor

  • Population: 5.09 million people. Roughly 2% of the population of the United States.
  • Religious breakdown: 76% Catholic, 14% Evangelical Christians, 10% other or none
  • Common tongue: Spanish
  • Costa Rica is one of the few countries of the world that does not have an active military

Local Ministry Partners:

  • Ocean’s Edge Ministries: Ocean’s Edge Ministries is a Christ-centered non-profit association established to positively impact the world by helping others live the abundant life through a personal relationship with God and a mission lifestyle. OE accomplishes this by mobilizing volunteers to positively impact the world for the glory of God, facilitate growth through mentoring & training, and hosting like-minded ministries, teams and individuals on The Edge Ministry Base. Ocean’s Edge is located in the town of Jaco Beach.
  • Conexion Extreme Service: Conexion is a group of volunteers from various backgrounds, cultures, and ages working together as the body of Christ to be the light and love of Christ in addressing social needs through extreme service and action all over Costa Rica. Conexion Ministries serves their local community through medical missions, evangelism, outreach events, kids clubs, and much more and loves to take in visiting missionary teams to work with public schools and local churches. Conexion is centralized in San Jose.
  • Metro Ministries: Metro Ministries is an organization dedicated to serving boys and girls growing up in the roughest circumstances and environments in San Jose. They serve over 150 children and 30 teenagers weekly by continuously striving to rescue suffering and hurting children, offering them a message of love and hope that encourages them to keep strong and stay in school, away from gangs, drugs and other destructive or criminal behaviors so common in inner-city environments.
  • Abraham Project: The Abraham Project is dedicated to serving and transforming the local community of Villas De Ayarco through evangelism, discipleship, and social involvement. The Abraham Project operates two children’s homes providing temporary housing for children at risk of being declared abandoned by the government. They also provide daycare and professional consultation services such as health and dental services at a minimal cost to meet the needs of the low-income families in the community.
